I have a 1 month old car which I would like to sell. I obviously want as much as I can get for it. Is it legal for me to create a lottery for my car? If it is legal, what are the pitfalls?

Since the lottery you're describing is no different from an everyday raffle, then I can't imagine why it wouldn't be?

I seem to remember someone tried this with their house then due to some legal problem had to cancel it and refund the money.
