Ok, so I know it’s only Saturday but I believe in forward planning.
As we’re away at the mo, we’ve found a dog friendly place which does a traditional Sunday lunch, which we will be partaking of.
I do love a Sunday roast but rarely, if ever, bother these days just for the two of us.
Looking forward to it :)

Enjoy!
I love a Sunday roast too. I don’t often bother as there’s only two of us.
I’ve got a bit of pork for tomorrow.
We were out for lunch a couple of weeks back, we sat near a couple with the most gorgeous looking German Shepherd. It was so quiet and well behaved.

Neither of my dogs were that well behaved.

We took our dog out to restaurants, pubs, etc., from when he was a young pup so he’s learnt to behave himself. We never, ever, give him food bits from the table either, which I think has helped his behaviour as he doesn’t expect it, or beg.
That’s not to say he doesn’t have the occasional excitable moment if someone makes a fuss of him, but 99% of the time he just lies quietly under the table.
Sorry, but I find dogs in restaurants quite repulsive. Only assistance dogs should be permitted where food is served. Why do people need to take their dog to a restaurant?
My first dog and I were invited out to dinner many years ago. He managed to get his jaws around a garlic baguette and he ate the whole thing.

The aftermath wasn't something that I would ever wish to repeat.

Oh heck wolf!
We seek out places which are dog friendly so I’m sure you could seek out places which aren’t diddly, as there are more of them around, and give them your custom.
If I walked into a restaurant and saw a dog I'd be straight out the door. Why don't doggy people understand that some of us can't abide slobbering, smelly pooches?
I understand it, although it doesn't bother me any more than people who think children should be hidden away from public. Socialisation is good and there are many places you could go, if you don't like dogs.
Question Author
Doggy people do understand diddly, which is why there are far more places which don’t allow dogs in.
Because diddlydo dogs love to come out with us and be included in things that we do. I think it's wonderful that so many places now will allow us to bring our dogs and I will always frequent such places. As Vagus say, plenty of places you can take your custom, but hope you're not unlucky enough to sit next to some really smelly person -plenty of them about !

Back to the OP, home made veggie casserole for dinner today.
Dogs are quite discerning when it comes to unfortunate meetings and the company they keep.

And actually our dog neither slobbers nor is he smelly.
Neither is mine Vagus, but dog haters always use this description when talking about dogs. Pathetic really.

Veggie casserole sounds delicious hereiam.
We had roast beef, yorkies and all the trimmings, first time either of us has had meat in about five weeks.

Best you no longer visit your host of friends in Europe then.
There's hardly a Cafe de Sport, bistro bar or restaurant in France that does not have family dogs asleep under the table.
I love dogs. I would be really happy to see a dog in a restaurant. They are cleaner than most humans.
A roast dinner here with my beautiful little furry friend in attendance
It is Vagus, especially when home made and you can put allsorts in it as well ! Forgot to say, strawberry trifle afterwards …
Doe she get a piece of meat Bobbs ?

Do you put any sort of beans/pulses in it, as well as whatever veggies? And in fact, what veggies have you used today, just for some inspiration??
