Hello.

Is there no Sunday Lunch thread today?

Typical. First time in ages I have a proper Sunday Lunch, and there's no thread.

I was a little surprised at the thought of you knocking up a full roast. What was on the menu today?

I will be serving ....slow cooked belly pork, roast potatoes, steamed broccoli with browned almonds, roast parsnips and stir fried cabbage with bacon and onion and a cider gravy.

There's a piece of pineapple in the fridge left over from last nights supper, I might add some butter, brandy, muscovado and cinnamon and bung it in the oven for a while and serve with some creme fraiche for pud.

Eccles, I'm not THAT useless.

Your meal sounds fab.
Chineses lol :-)

And it's here! Good job! I was starting to feel faint ;-) haha!
jj Hope you left the cheese out of the fridge
What did your parents cook for your lunch?
Maybe not JJ, but just when did you last cook a full roast meal?
Todays the day I cook Steaks - Heston-stylee...Those Rib-eyes have been exposed in the fridge 2 days now...and OH just gave me a prezzie...A meat probe/thermometer :-)
Question Author
Oh, sibton ... I have no cheese tonight. I need a trip to Marylebone.

Eccles, I'm not sure when I last did one. But I'm sure I could if I wanted to.

Mums did a pheasant stew or casserole, whatever it's called, with mashed potato and savoy cabbage. Qiute nice.

I was out Friday night, and yesterday I went to watch my pals' daughter play Lacrosse, and then went out for dinner with them. So I've managed to keep my cooker nice and clean for a few days.
Question Author
Zhukov ... what is a Heston style steak ?
Quite right too jj. oh is cooking chicken curry (remains of his roast chicken yesterday) and tomorrow eating out in a good restaurant. x
Zhukov - I hope you've got them out of the fridge and are bringing them up to temperature???

JJ - I have no doubt in you ability, it's more your will to make a roast dinner that I was questioning.

I'm no paragon of virtue, I might love cooking and work with food but when home alone I eat the freakiest meals!
Thanks Eccles...done that..they will rest on the counter..2-3 hours :-)
