If estate agent valued your home at 325000. And a person looking around your home after viewing told estate agent they wanted to buy for 300000 as they wanted to make 20000 pounds of alterations would you be offended. Answers gladly accepted thank you.

I wouldn't be offended if I was keen to sell the place.
Yes - I would offer to use my experts for improvements & increase sale cost.
No I would not be offended that they wanted to make all the alterations. However if that his first offer I would refuse and make a counter offer of a bit less that of your asking price. Your Estate Agent should be able to advise on a suitable amount.
My uncle was in the same situation. He said to them ‘Why should I pay for your decorating?’
No, that's what happens. You have an asking price and people make offers. " Always ask for more than you would happily accept, and offer less than you would happily pay " Sage advice.
No I never buy property at "asking price" always 10% less as it's just an estate agents guide price.
Never worth being offended. But the alterations are the buyer's responsibility. All you need to decide is whether your willing to accept the £300k offer or not.
...but you wouldn't really know if the buyer really intended to do those alterations, would you? It might be a bit of flannel to get the house at a lower price.
bookbinder depends on whether you are buying or selling and what your financial position is if you are buyer, cash is king.
