anyone know, as the poor thing will perish before it;s had a chance to flower
In the tray and keep adding water, a little at a time, until it stops sucking it up.
I am assuming that the pot has holes in its base.

danny, thanks...
keep it in the coolest daylight bright spot you have. Miniature roses have the same requirements as the big ones do. They hate heated houses.
Question Author
will do
I was given some mini roses for my birthday in August. They were fine outside until end of Sept., but now live in the cold conservatory - and they are still flowering! The trough they arrived in has no holes in the bottom so I water carefully from above - at the edge. I've been gradually reducing the water in the hope of persuading them to hibernate!
Any ideas out there? They will need a dormant period.
Question Author
jourdain, no where to put these except in the living room as i live in a flat..
You will also need to prune them back to where new shoots are forming in the spring
they will go dormant when they feel like it. If they are still growing and you reduce water it will kill them. I would also transplant them into a pot or pots with drainage.
Thanks for that, woof, will do.
I always water house plants by dunking them in a washing up bowl filled with tepid water till they are totally soaked then let them drain on the draining board. Occasionally give them afeed with baby bio.
My spider plants for one approve of my treatment and just potted up some babies, waiting for them to root until I cut them of off "mother" plants. Also keep plants root bound which helps to improve flowering.
Also taken on board TonyV :)
I want one of those potted plants, where you break off a leaf, roll it and smoke it ;/]
In knew someone in France who got the seeds off the internet and had an orchard-full! (His wife suffered a lot of pain, but that wasn't all he used them for. Dead now, unfortunately, so can't be harmed by disclosure.
Theland you talking about tobacco or something more illegal
