I want to stick some felt to the backs of stones/pebbles to make paperweights. I have a hot glue gun but the glue just doesn't stick the felt to the stones. What can I use? Any ideas?

I've used Copydex with kids at school for similar, Horseshoes...x
gness
couldn't think of the name, that's it copydex, used to use it years ago.

Mamya, that's similar to what I've already tried. Hot glue sticks stick most things, but I just cannot get the felt to adhere to the stones; but thank you.

I have some glue similar to copydex but didn't think that would work. I'll give it a go later. Thank you.
It looks like others have beaten me to it. If I was trying to stick felt to pebbles, I'd also reach for the Copydex.
you can buy copydex from many outlets not least Post offices, amazon, Wilkinsons.
Glues 'similar to' Copydex are probably PVA glues. Copydex is latex-based and seems to be better for many tasks.
at the risk of sounding like a sillier sausage than normal, is there any way you could 'rough' the base of the pebble (emery board, sandpaper) for the glue to take a purchase on?

Thank you one and all.

As always, I appreciate your help. X
Would an epoxy resin such as Araldite work ?
Surely a nice looking pebble would be an ideal paperweight on it's own?
Why stick felt to it?
It depends upon what service the weight is placed, EDDIE.

My adhesive of choice is always Araldite. I have used their product choice system to see what would best adhere fabric to stone for you horseshoes :

^ A paper weight is placed on paper, the clue is in the name.
I think horseshoes actually means decorations rather than paperweights.
Sometimes there is no paper under a paperweight, EDDIE. Is the clue in your avatar? ;)
Pop into your nearest Supermarket and buy some Gorilla Glue, will stick just about anything !!

This is what I wanted to stick the felt to. There are about 50 which are @ 6" x 4" plus some smaller ones. I went to our excellent hardware store today and the chap said Copydex wouldn't work but Gorilla Glue and another similar brand would too, but they are just so expensive for a tiny tube I have decided not to bother with a felt backing. But thank you all for your replies and help. x
Aldi had Gorilla Glue products in recently at good prices. Maybe find some left.
