We have just purchased one of these, it is like a fleece throw with a remote, do you put it on under the duvet, over the duvet or instead of the duvet TIA
I'll not disagree with you ginge - it's about 30 years since we last used heated blankets, so I'm rather out of touch with them. In those days it was recommended not to leave underblankets on but I can see that things will have changed across the years.
I still can't get to grips with tambo having hers over the duvet - I'm surprised any heat gets through from it, since the duvet is meant to be a good insulator.
under, otherwise the heat will wear itself out getting through the duvet before it gets to you.
In fact, I'd say "instead of" as the blankets can be quite heavy; over to you whether you need blankets, quilts, duvets, sheets, cats or whatever on top of it.
bhg....electric overblankets are meant to be used INSTEAD of a duvet....probably best inside a duvet cover to keep it clean.
I've tried one in the past....but never liked it - not enough weight covering you.
I am sending a link to this post to pretty much everyone I know outside the UK. Only in the UK are pieces of furniture supplied with their individual heating system - elsewhere people heat their houses, but then it has to be admitted that they (the houses there) are generally of a higher standard too. This post will be one of the best joke links I have provided, just because it isn't a joke, it's real people discussing a real situation.
I had one, immediately over me, I didn't like it tbh and went back to the underblanket that I sleep on all night through and my underblanket is machine washable, I have it years, I think it's what best suits you but not over the duvet as that would be a pure waste of energy. Keep snug! :)
I have an underblanket that my daughter gave me several years ago. It was the best present ever. I put it on 15-20 minutes before bed, and I'm cosy all night. Love it.
