Yes, I have my electric blanket over the mattress topper. And I can recommend Dreamland Intelliheat Fleecy Fitted Underblanket from Argos.
The good thing is that after one hour if you've forgotten to switch off, it does it for you automatically. Really cosy.
Also yes, we have an electric blanket on a Tempur mattress (which is even thicker than a topper) and it's absolutely fine. getting into a hot bed at the moment is bliss!

Thanks Prudie.
I think the inventor of the electric blanket, having brought so much sublime comfort and rest into the world, should been given a Nobel Peace Prize.
Am I the only one that sleeps better when I'm cold?

Me too ummmm!
As long as my body is quite warm when getting into bed, I love getting into a cold bed.
I am much more comfy than laying in a hot bed and having to have one leg hang out of the bedclothes because I,m too hot! Lol
being too hot gives me nightmares, but I can't get to sleep at all when I'm cold, ummmm. I have an electric overblanket and I'll leave it on all night if necessary, but I can turn it down or off whenever I want to.
Nope - me too ummmm - electric blankets can be useful to pre-warm a bed in a cold/damp house, but otherwise they are stifling.
As long as my feet are warm.
I have a memory foam mattress and I find they are quite warm anyway.
