I planted some lettuce seeds into a tray of compost about 4-5 weeks ago. Seedlings came through after about 14 days (showing the seed leaves) and reached a height of approx. 1/2". However--that was about 14 days ago and they seem to have stopped going any further. Is this normal??

growth does slow once the seed is through. The next bit is to start to build up a root system to get nourishment from the soil then the real growth will start.

Many thanks Woofgang--I was hoping that would be the case
Once the true leaves appear, thats the time to start thinning them out.
After that they should start to develop better.
