Stains On Clothes...

I've put this in chat as most ABers go there.

Clothes that have been unworn for quite a while have yellowish stains on them where they have been folded. ( I know I should have put them in poly bags ) Is there a way to remove these stains? They are on good quality shirts. I have now washed them 3 times. Will putting 'vanish' on them remove the stains or are we talking "in the bin".

Wash them in Vanish powder.
Soak the stained area with white vinegar, then wash as normal. It doesn't always work - but worth a try, perhaps.

Thank you both for your suggestions, I will try both.
You could also try rubbing them with vanish bar soap then washing them through again.
This often works for me when other things have failed.

Will try that too Ladyalex. These are expensive shirts, I really don't want to bin them unless I have to.
Hi Jeza, have you considered dry cleaning if these are items you really want to keep (no idea if it would work, dry cleaning is like some form of magic to me).

I'll try that too Sher, after the other suggestions if they don't work.
