I can't do it that way, I get in a muddle.
Hi Conne so what are you now going to do with all the spare time?
we always do it that way - and if it helps, I put a peg on the top corners to make sure they stay there. (I take the pegs off when I've finished, LOL)
I ended up in tears once. I have a king size quilt and two furry assistants - so much can go wrong with that mix.
I can do that with singles and doubles but when I get to the kingsize one, I get my Grandsons in for reinforcements. LOL

rocky you turn duvet cover inside out and grasp the two ends - put on two big pegs on them and shake the cover down. What I then do I throw the duvet over the bannister and button them that way. Sometimes I ask my neighbour but really don't like bothering them so gave it a go about 10 minutes. It does help my duvet is like a feather in itself and the duvet cover was light too.
Question Author
well mamy mine is a kingsize so if I can do it anybody can - you just need to "calm" down LOL
Great, conne, I didn't realise the youtube one has pegs, too.
Question Author
vakayu - what do you mean spare time.
No bannister, but hey we have fun - they usually end up inside it somehow.
Question Author
youtube may not have pegs but that was my idea. two of a kind. LOL
I guess vakayu means "all the time you used to spend wrestling with the cover before"!
I actually invested in some clothes pegs but I still got tied in knots. It was easier with my old duvet but this feather one seems to fight against me. If I ever win the lottery I am going to pay someone to do this chore for me.
Question Author
Oh - go in here I guess - mind you I should be practising this piano business. so hard hard.
Question Author
Wolfie if you win the lottery I will do it for you - no probs LOL
I have tried that method. Worked ok the first time, but not every time, not sure why. Lot of a fuss IMO. They should have velcro fastenings on 3 sides and there'd be no need for strategies on how to get it on.
Old Geezer someone has already invented or rather thought of that and marketed a fully open-out job with great success I understand.
Question Author
old geezer bought the 3 sided duvet some years back - although mine were zipped - zipper kept being caught in the cotton - were a nightmare - ended threw mine out.
Duvet covers sold in Holland have the fastenings on one side - much easier to put on for singles and doubles, but much the same as bottom fastenings for king size.
