Putting a cover on a single duvet is child's play but how on earth do you put one on a kingsize especially if you're on your own. I bought one yesterday and have given up trying until help is given as I'm cross - and worn out. Please help me?

Cetti! I sympathise! It's not easy is it, but this is the way I do it. I have my duvet cover inside out to start with. I then put my hands into the cover and find the farthest away corners. When I've done that, I grab hold of the corners of the duvet, and then gently shake the remainder of the cover over the duvet so that it's a fair way down. I then remove my hands, and grab the same corners I was just holding, from the outside, and shake the duvet and the cover so that the cover falls all the way to the other end of the duvet. A bit of jiggling about and getting duvet corners into cover corners, and you're done! This probably sounds completely ridiculous, but it's the only way I can do it and, I promise, it does get easier the more you do it! Good luck!

Wow flirty, that was quick!

That's odd, only the first line of my reply has appeared! I told the husband it was something to do with the cover being inside out and was met with 'Mmm really' - so after he's read your instructions he can do it! Many thanks for your help.
Just happened to be in the right place at the right time, I guess, Cetti! Yes, sometimes men can be so dismissive can't they!!! :-D Anyway, I hope the instructions are clear enough so that your hub doesn't get tangled up and lost forever inside your new cover! I'm sure you'll both sleep well after all your efforts! Night night!!

Lost for ever - if only.LOL!! Every word has been copied and pasted just in case, but you've made it so easy to understand he was up the stairs in a flash to show me the way it's done.......better go and see if he's still there...so night night!
Cetti, I don't know if you're a male or female, but if you are female you will know exactly what crocodile clips are. If you're male, they're things that women use in their hair, and they are also perfect for helping with lone duvet stuffing. Simply get the top two corners of the duvet into the cover and hold them in place with crocodile clips. You then have your hands free to stuff the rest of the duvet into the cover. Makes this horrid job a lot easier.

Thanks Susie, I will keep that in mind. After all the help flirty gave me last night I went upstairs to find the husband had put the cover on perfectly - but inside out :D
Ha ha ha!!!! :-D
Not much to add other than to confirm that what Flirty says is the only way to do it, just don't let the edges go or you will be back in an exhausted tormented heap! SusieEllen, you may have just sorted that danger out!

Yes, that's what happenened brawburd. As it's such a huge duvet (how does anyone manage with a Superking?) and my reach is pretty short I kept losing the corners so I think I will have to search for some crocodile clips as backup!
Ditto, Ditto, Ditto - i'm off to buy some crocodile clips.
Clothes pegs are as good as crocodile clips.
I did once hear the flippant suggestion that given whenever you pull your duvet cover out of the washing machine everything else in the wash has ended up neatly inside the cover, the simple solution is to put duvet & cover in the machine, run a cycle & hey presto! Ok, it's daft, but if you're cross & worn out it might make you smile.

After all the lovely answers I've had I'm very happy now, and thank you, yes it did make me smile although I don't think I'll try your suggestion in case it makes me cross again ;-)
