Any ideas how you get cat Sugar off a duvet? One of my feather duvets is smeared with cat Sugar. Little witch. The duvet didn't have a cover on it because I had taken it off to wash. It's an expensive feather one. I'm not sure that I dare take it to the dry cleaners.

Jeez I am angry.

try dabbing it with diluted washing up liquid initially.
What might be good is Milton sterilizing solution. It's good for lifting stains.
Yes I do believe that you can have it Dry Cleaned, check first though
But I think I would clean as much as I can and then take it to the cleaners. They must get loads of stuff that has been soiled by various animals.
Def dry cleaners, it'll be vvvv honky if not..... Just found a pellet of Sugar on a bath mat (lovely) :-((((
not being gross, but has it seeped through to the inner layer? if it has, you will have to take it to be cleaned properly, i'm afraid. if not, try some biological washing powder mixed with warm water to make a paste and try to clean only the outside of the duvet. if you get it too wet, the rubbish will also seep through. washing up liquid will do, but again be careful with the amount.
you can wash a feather duvet but personally i would take it to the dry cleaners to have it done properly....

I normally take them to the cleaners, but normally they just need freshening up and they are not covered in animal ablutions.

The poo hasn't seeped through (I think - its still a bit fresh for me to get too close and its early yet), but the wee has (yes I just discovered she has peed all over it too). I am too embarrassed to take it to the cleaners in that state.
Hi Barmaid - glad to see you posting - I too have one of those expensive duvets you just don't want to throw out. I would mix a full top of ACE bleach and washing powder in the bathroom sink, drag the duvet to the bathroom and steep the offended area for about half-hour to 1 hour. I do hope you have access to ACE bleach if not - do not use any other bleaches - ACE is for washing fabrics. (Although I have not used VANISH ) it could help - you know Barmaid (googling for self-help is great - I have had great tips from that) Good luck and also with your impending holiday with grandpappy. Conn
pets.........................don't ya just love them !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Conne. I might try some fabric bleach, but tbh its pretty much ruined anyway seeing as the wee has soaked right through, so I might as well put it through the launderette first.

At this present moment, Anne. NOOOOOOOOO!

Launderette would be good again with ACE and washing powder - don't give up when you see it coming out - it will look like a piece of string - when it is dried try naturally rather than tumbling - it will spread out. WARNING
Oh no, wee and poo? That was vindictive. personally I'd try to get the stainy stuff off just sponging with Ariel etc then take to the cleaners.
if you ACE put a little on the offending area and let it soak for a minute before putting into launderette machine - then throw ACE into washing powder. it should turn out ok. They are too expensive to throw out - and at least you are giving it a go.

I'll think about it Conne. Fact is, it is a little TOO pungent for me to deal with it yet.

Prudie, the state of that room looks like she has done a dirty protest. The blanket I can wash, the pillow ticks I can wash, the carpet I shall steam clean. I have no idea what got into her last night. I suspect it was because her nose was out of joint because ASBO and Arnie got on our bed before her and Arnie won't let her share.
Flog it, put it on Ebay. Tracy Emin type art.
Nothing helpful to add to what you are asking about Barmaid. Just wanted to say to you that ABers everywhere are so pleased that you did not leave us. You are our hero!
Sorry that's made me laugh, as far fetched as your reasoning may seem to some I reckon you're right, it was flouncing cat style.
I don't think it's feather if it was expensive. More likely down or down with some feather. In which case there's lots of discussion online about the best way of cleaning - and not much agreement!
you are right gingebee - my mine is pure down so maybe different instructions to clean said moggy's mess.
