Our electric shower cut out but resumed after re setting the trip at the socket .Any connection to the kettle leaking ?

Any advice to which replacement kettle/ make, if we buy a new one ?

Leaking jug type kettles often cause the RCD (trip) to operate. That will also cut out any of the circuits that share that RCD. So it's quite normal.

I'm afraid a kettle is a kettle to me Georgic. No help with a replacement at all. I just look in Amazon :o)
You can buy an electric kettle from under a tenner to over £100 - depends what you want/need. Think you were just unlucky - Philips is as good as any.

:-)

Aye I think the advice given is sound, unsure what help it was though. Just to confuse you further you can get fast/efficient 'one cup' "kettles" these days. You can also get, as I did recently, one with a water filter incorporated. I think avoid the cheap ones on the assumption you get what you pay for, and only go expensive if your really like the style/colour.whatever or are fanatic re the brand name. IMO go for a reputable brand mid-priced option.
