... is that because it comes in SUCH a funky little square bottle ...

... it can't POSSIBLY have any bad effects ... no matter

HOW MUCH you drink.

This is a definite fact.

Fact: It can make you vomit
Fact: It is lovely with champagne.
it mixes well with champers over ice
I haven't seen a bottle of that for years. I remember the adverts.

Bit late in the evening to open poo.

I haven't seen a bottle of it since ... well, just before I posted this thread, when I went for a top up.
never too late; hi ball, full of ice and drizzled over, twist of orange or lemon optional
oh don't... I'm on metronidazole and alcohol can kill you. I like to sprinkle a little cointreau on strawberries, plus a modest spoonful of vanilla ice cream. Just not while I'm on the antibiotics.
I once bought a litre of Cointreau when going to the south of France by train. We had a compartment party which included cointreau, champagne, and cognac. We helped a totally p!ssed lady, her nanny, and her two children off the train at Cap d'Agde
... and they'd been going to Marseille
As far as I can remember I have never tasted the stuff. Is it still popular? I seem to recall it was advertised as a very up-market drink.

That sound fab!

I mean, err ... craft's Compartment Party ... not jno's antibiotics.

But jno ... surely this stuff can't do you any harm ... it's in SUCH a cute bottle.

And it was really good value at COSTCO!
I don't think it has any particular social status, it just tastes nice.
Question Author
HK ... it's popular with me tonight!
I was only thinking the other day of those flippin awful Cointreau ads in the 70s where the French man takes the English woman out to dinner. Remember them? They were so corny.
I've had my bottle so long the price on it is in pesetas. It got lost in the back of the cupboard for about 20 years but it hasn't aged a bit.

I shall have a look in Costco for a replacement once I have got through the strawberries.

Some antibiotics are okay with liquor; some cease to work. But liquor with metro can kill :-(
Question Author
I can't remember the ads.
Question Author
"But liquor with metro can kill"

That's probably a bad thing, on balance.
Cointreau is lush.....................I was given a birthday party in the south of France by some lovely dutch people who brought a huge amount of cointreau to the 'do'......................I don't remember going to bed (and apparently falling off my chair) but I didn't have a hangover.
Oh God, I`ve just found one of the ads on youtube. It`s called The Ice Melts. Dire.
this is what I mean
