I want to plant some small trees in my garden that will grow really quickly. Something like a conifer type tree. I dont necessarily want them to grow high just to about seven foot would be good, just enough to clear the fence. Speed is the essence though. The quicker they grow the better. Can anyone help please?

Be very wary of leylandii trees. Yes, they will grow quickly and do the job. But in 5-10 years time they can be a total nightmare in terms of growth.

You will need to keep them very well trimmed at least once a year. They can also take huge amounts of moisture from the soil - so beware of planting them anywhere close to your building.
