Hiya, just a quick request!

How much roughly would it cost to have some one in to wallpaper your living room and hallway? Just a rough estimate please. So much an hour?

whoops, should have said --smallish 2 bedroom house.
Very difficult to estimate as it depends on room size, wall height and type of paper chosen. It also depends on where in the country you live.
I'd imagine the size of the house would have little affect on the hourly rate for wallpapering.

Never had it done myself. What does any tradesman charge these days ? £50 and hour ? £75 ? More ? Plus materials of course.

My pure guess would be a few hundred per room. But what do I know ?
Daffy's right. Decorators I know charge so much per roll which takes time into account. Have been quoted on a few occasions and the prices varied enormously. Have you thought about getting a few estimates?
No OG...it's only plumbers that charge that...
An hourly rate is an hourly rate, it doesnt matter how big the house is.

A smallish 2 bedroom house actually means nothing, smallish compared to what?

I have lived in 2 smallish 2 bedroom houses, one had a huge lounge one had a tiny lounge

try giving the size of the room, the age and condition of the room, who is paying for materials etc, will the original wallpaper need stripping are the walls damaged or like new.
My friend who is a decorator doesn't charge by the hour, he prices for the individual jobs. I didn't know that decorators charged by the hour.
And I know someone who charges day rates.

But their days are completely different to a normal working day!!
I had someone in to emulsion my bedroom 3 walls & wallpaper 1 wall. Bedroom avarage size no cieling, no other painting, came in at 9-30am finished at 5pm £190.00 gave him a tenner & numerouse cups of tea & biscuits.
