You could claim housing benefit?
You would probably have to apply to your council for a home and given that they have long waiting lists you might have to live in some sort of homeless shelter until a place becomes available. That's what I would expect if I was in your position at any rate.
where do you live now?
You will get benefits and housing benefit and get rate relief. With no savings and no income you will probably get all your rent paid.
Is your accomodation linked to your work?

Might be worth starting the process of applying for social housing now at least it would be more secure..in that they are more likely to wait for housuing benefit to be sorted.)

do you mean lose your job ? Loose your job suggests giving it up voluntarily.

i live in a flat owned by family I just pay my way. problem is because i am old
i dont look as a receptionist they might kick me out
There are proposals afoot to limit the level of housing benefit for young people, aged between 18 and 25, to the rate that would cover the cost of a room in a shared house. That wouldn't apply to you. You'd get full housing benefit.

sorry can't spell its not Loose at the moment but may become that if get too old and the government keeps moving the retirement age to 7000000000
They can't sack you for being 58!
Sorry but is this a windup
Probably not Ric...
If they kick you out because of your age, they you can take them to a tribunal. It's against the law.
Whether you are a pensioner or working or unemployed then there is a certain minimum amount of income you are entitled to. You won't have much to spare but you won't have to sleep on a park bench. You won't be any worse off in your situation than if you had a state pension coming in.
Question Author
yes i know but the state pension does,nt kick in untill iam 68 i still have to li fo10 years God how horrible it is to be old and pennyless
Still can't understand why you think you will be any richer when you get a state pension that you would be if you were on unemployment benefit???
You won't be, apart from a heating allowance, £10 at Christmas and free buses!!!!
The local council, they dish out houses, cars and benefits aplenty to all the foreigners who come over here, so why not an actual inhabitant for a change. They will put you into emergency accommodation until a suitable flat can be found. Why not start putting money aside now just in case it happens?
The Local council dish out cars?? when did this scheme start, link please!
