Hi, a pair of my trousers have split along the seam at the bottom of leg, in order to repair them is it best to ovelap the two sides and use a running stitch?! thanks!

Oh dear!  Know anyone with some Copydex to spare?  Paint it onto the two split folds and just glue them together.

OK then, if you're any good at sewing, use any stitch really and perhaps if you can do it with double threaded cotton, it will give you a stronger seam.
