When I was 12 my neighbour called social services and falsely accused me of sexually assaulting my best friend.
My best friend was questioned, and said my neighbour was wrong.
I was never questioned.
Would this appear on a crb check?

Hi- as you have posted the same question twice it might be worth asking people to ignore one of them and just reply on the other. It gets disjointed if two threads are live at the same time
no because you were under 18 and never charged or cautioned
Question Author
yeah sorry I didnt realise I posted it twice. My mistake.
Is that definitely right, cathfromsaron- does the age make a difference?
Anyway, I assume James is 22 now so this happened 10 years ago. I don't think 10 years ago unfounded allegations were always recorded and therefore wouldn't appear on CRB checks, whereas now there is more chance of something being recorded
Question Author
Yes im 22, I have just finished university, I did Sports science, and would like to teach, do GTP but unsure about crb.
"The CRB reveals all convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings that are held on the Police National Computer (PNC)."

It doesn't mention anything about being under a certain age

"On the 19th October 2009, a judgement by the Court of Appeal supported retention of criminal convictions on the Police National Computer for policing purposes. In particular the police are obliged, under Part V of the Police Act, to provide the Criminal Records Bureau with access to all convictions held on the PNC. Therefore, the stepping down of convictions is no longer undertaken. In effect this means that all convictions will be retained on the PNC until an individuals 100th birth date."

If you were never questioned then you can't have a caution or a reprimand or anything that could appear on a CRB regardless of your age.

If you'd like to put your mind at rest, get a CRN check done. If asked why you already have one say that you thought it best to get one in order to be ready for any opportunity that might come along.
^ Maidup- when you said CRN did you mean CRB? I didn't think an individual could request one. But one way to get one is to apply to do voluntary work with an organisation that would need to do a CRB check on you.
Yes sorry I did mean CRB. There are sites now where you can apply online for a check. BEst to search fo "CRB check online" and take your pick for there
