I'm going to build a fitted wardrobe. What is the best height for hanging rails?

Eye level?
In our wardrobe the rails are at 65 inches (for full length coats) above the wardrobe floor, and 41 inches for jackets and thigh-length coats.
It depends on whether you want storage below the hanging clothes and how tall the people who use the wardrobe are.
I would estimate at around 6ft off the ground if storage below IS required.
If you are not having a shelf or anything similar above the rail then have the rail as near to the top as practical then you could always slide storage boxes, shoes, etc. underneath the hanging garments.
Just a thought!
We have some full length ones, but also some shorter ones, one above the over. I'd suggest you get your longest clothes out and do some mock ups!
