I have fully comprehensive motor insurance, and gave the details of a minor damage motor collision to my insurance company in June 2010, 7 days after the event. I enclosed full details of the third party, motor vehicle reg no etc and a written estimate of the cost of repair.
The insurance company have written to me recently Jan 02 denying all knowledge of the matter. What should I do now, advice would be appreciated.Babyjaydee101
Did you keep a copy of the info you sent? If so, send it again. I presume you didn't send the original info 'sign-for' or some other 'proof of delivery' method?
Hopefully you kept photocopies, so you can resubmit them to the insurance company? I send stuff like this always by recorded delivery so at least you can prove it arrived!
BTW - I wouldn't put an email address on here, too public, unless it's a throwaway one - not sure why you did it, you might want to ask the Ed to remove it.
I wondered if anyone else had noticed the email addy -thats the second this week (different person I think). Not a good idea - my suggestion was to re post and report this post and ask for it to be deleted. As it happened both posts dissapeared (??)
Has your time limit for claiming expired bjd?
I am in the midst of a very complicated claim which started the same way as yours (but building insurance) just over 2 yrs ago and I met the loss adjustor (another one) on Wednesday as they are having to re-start the claim. So if they can do this due to their neglicence then I assume you can re-submit your details.I would just lash in what you did before and put down the dates you originally sent them-just the equivelent of what you sent in the first place (but send a photocopy;)).They have to prove they didnt receive them just the same as you have to prove you did. Then theres the ombudsman....
Good advice dris, babyjaydee hasn't come back in the last 48 hours though.... I never understand people who sent vital documents off without keeping copies, I hope OP has for their sake.
I am here!! depends what the claim is for - presumably you mean your car was not damaged and you may have damaged or injured a Third Party babyjaydee101?
