Yes, buy a cheaper house below the stamp duty rate!!
none.... as its now called stamp duty land tax and its payable on the whole price, stamp duty starts at 125k unless is disadvantaged areas, then it starts at 150k. u could pay 120k and a bit for extras but be very careful and never try and avoid paying, you will get caught....... nasty government

angeldraws I live in Lonodn. There is nothing below stamp duty level! I was wondering if a property was for sale at �270000 could we agree with the seller that the "price" would be �249000 and the balance would be for fixtures and fittings (carpets etc) ?
Ah, gotcha.........that does seem to be a roblem then - you can get two houses for a tenner up here.......!! Lol
as its a buyers market cant you say i will buy it at asking price but the seller pays the stamp duty?
