Can I have some recommendations on where to buy a sofa need a fabric sofa preferably in black but would go with brown or beige if I had to budget up to 1000 corner or 3 seater and armchair.
My cousins have a very nice sofa (fabric) from M&S - although you may go over your budget. We got ours from DFS and 2 and a bit years on it still looks fairly new (not fabric though).
I always try them out first, before I bought mine 2 years ago I had sat on about 2 dozen before finding one I could live with, better to go to showrooms like DFS etc. I like fabric ones too and its getting increasingly hard to find them as everyone seems to like leather.
Good luck
I would also recommend M&S, I too looked at and sat on what seemed like hundreds of sofas and I could not find better quality than M&S. Most sofas had very little depth so were really uncomfortable. The only problem, at the time (2 years ago) they did not have any choice of black material because that is what I wanted. Also if you can wait a couple of months you will get 20-30% off in the sale.
Have you tried Next?
They have a good range of styles and fabrics. They range from fashionable to more traditional shapes and good range of colours (neutrals to charcoal to chocolate). They should give you free fabric swatches in store (stores that sell homeware) to take home and check in your own home lighting.
We got our 3 seat sofa and chair from Next (chocolate brown textured velvet fabric), have had it for nearly 2 years, still great condition and both pieces cost us less than 1000.
