Not very common - but yes you can.
yes, as Octavius says. Thats why so many girls still get caught when they believe the old wive's tales.

Just as you can get pregnant your first time.
Or standing up against a wall.

Lets get to the grusome part....... sorry.......... My period started on sept 20, i have very short periods, they tend to be quite heavy on the first day or two then lighten off on the 3rd and 4th day. usally gone by day 5. I had sex with my husband on sept 23rd(last night) whats the chances of pregnancy?
slim but not impossible. If you are hoping to conceive then the more you practice the more your chances increase :)

If you are worried about an unwanted pregnancy then speak to your GP or pharmacy about the morning after pill which can be taken up to 72 hours after unprotected sex, the earlier the better.
It is possible but unlikely I think. Are you trying for a baby?
Question Author
Not worried bout unwanted pregnancy, not trying to get pregnant but would be lovely if i did.
Slight, but possible. If you ovulate close to a period, you could get pregnant, but sometimes people are pregnant anyway - and unaware of it, because you can still have a loss of blood during this time. An old lady I know swears that she had periods for 8 months of her pregnancy. When they stopped, she went along to the doctors, hoping to be pregnant with her first child. The shock of hearing that she was pretty close to having him was enough to make it happen there and then!
Normally the perios cycle lasts 28 days and so the ovelation period is usually 14/16 days after the day of your last period so I would say you would have a chance to get pregnant on the 4th - 6th of next month!

Me and hubby were trying and used this mothod to calculate and it worked hoorey!

So although not impossible, but not likley!
lol, i'd never have got to 8 months without realising, i was the size of a house.

lou, if your not worried either way then just wait until next month. my partner and i werent trying or preventing when I fell pregnant. Im 11 weeks pregnant today and I thought that our 2 year old would be contraception enough. :)
i also had periods for the first three months of my pregnancy

The last pregnancy test i did was jus before this period.... negative!!! My husband works away during the weeks and after checking these fertile calenders online, i always seem to be fertile wen he is not here. We would like a second child but we are not actively trying.
itll happen Lou, just try as much as you can when you can :)
Congratulations redcrx - hope all goes well. I was exactly the same when expecting my first child. At three months I couldn't fit into anything except vast floppy tops and skirts with eleasticated waistbands. The old lady I know, is a fairly bonny lady, so maybe she never noticed her increased weight - especially as she was still having periods. Apart from my own vast weight gain and lack of the obvious, I wouldnt've known either - no particular tiredness, sickness or anything. I almost WISHED for it, just to prove to myself that I WAS pregnant - lol.
thanks ice-maiden. I breezed through my first with no symptoms really until the last 2 months, but this ones a different story altogether, i certainly know Im pregnant lol

Yes, redcrx, they say all pregnancies are different don't they? All worth it at the end of the day though - and lou - good luck to you.
