If planting your callistemon outdoors, choose a sheltered possition in full sun, the soil should be moist but well drained and acidic rather than chalky.
Alternativly it can be grown in pots and grown in John innes No' 2 compost. If you have the option to move it to a green house or conservatory in the winter, this may benifit if frosts are a problem in your area.
No pruning isnormally required but you can do this in the summer if you want to keep it compact. Good Luck. T bird+
