My fish trys to jump out of the tank also.It could be something to do with cemical imbalances in the water or the water needing to be changed.

Fish will try to jump out to find fresher water.

You can get a cover or use some light netting to prevent your fish jumping out.

kozmic :)
Isn't it something to do with lack of oxygen in the water? Have you got a pump which keeps the bubbles pumping oxygen into it?
Yes "lankeela" your right it can be to do with a lack of oxygen.
It is extremely important to have a sorce of oxygen in the tank/bowl.

Oxygen also stops the water going stagnant and keeps the water cleaner for longer, reducing the amount of cleaning required.

Try moving the tank/bowl to a quiet place in your house which is not too busy and try some stress drops.
