I've always used self-raising, but this recipe shows otherwise. Good luck & enjoy!

All my recipes say plain flour which I have always used with good results. (Had toad in the hole on Monday, VERY nice)

thanks ladies that will do nicely

Your'e welcome sweetdor.

As I say, just to be different, I've always used self raising for toad-in-the-hole, I also make pastry with it too & my family tell me I make the most delish mince pies they've ever tasted!

2 heaped tablespoons plain flour to 1 egg, milk, and a little cold water, s+p....... same for pancakes, but omit s+p and thin more
