Pancake batter mix

We're making pancakes tomorrow night and although we usually make up our own batter, for various reasons we're going to use batter mix tomorrow night.

Which batter mixes taste the best of give the best results? Which would you recommend?

Surely it's quicker to make your own than go to the shops to buy batter mix - takes all of 1 minute!

Never mind mixes - Aunt Bessie makes them for you. 8 in a pack.
I make my own though.

If you look at the ingredients on almost any batter mix pack, you'll find it's nothing more than flour, milk powder, and salt.
For a given quantity, this could well cost you over five times more than doing it yourself.

JIF do a Pancake mix thats really good it comes in a plastic bottle and you just add milk and shake. (they do a normal version and an american one)

Much better to buy a batter mix - they only cost about 20p a bag and saves you having to buy all the ingredients (especially useful if you're unlikely to use a whole bag of flour) There's also no taste difference whatsoever - supermarkets own make is as good as any!

It's actually cheaper to buy a batter mix than to buy individual ingredients, thanks philandlil for your relevant answer, I got the tesco brand in the end!
