Advice About Underpowered Chainsaw Please

I recently bought a Spear and Jackson chainsaw, the second one I've had, the first was very good but now worn out. The new one starts and runs ok but you really need to wind up the revs for it to cut effectively. The manual indicates either spark plug or mixture but does not go further. Help please on plug gap and /or mixture adjustment.
