It's OH's birthday on Wed, and I've got him a pair of garden shears. As he's currently mowing the lawns, I thought it might be the right time to give them to him. He seems a bit underwhelmed, and said he'll open the box later (still in cardboard box from Amazon) :(

I think I would be underwhelmed too if my oh gave me shears lol x
You’ve got time to get him something else and I strongly advise you to do so lol
If I were to buy my wife a new vacuum cleaner for her birthday I wouldn't be alive for her next
The general rule in our house is something personal for birthdays and something for the house for anniversaries.
get him something personal on Wed -

He's already had the Adidas sports holdall I bought him for work!
Actually, we've just had a discussion about it, and he has admitted he's a difficult person to buy gifts for.

I had a new fridge-freezer for my birthday once,....I was dead chuffed! honest :)

It's so much easier when you stop buying each other presents :-)
^^^^ nooooo! Presents are fun...OR should be.
Do get him something else...maybe quiz him on what frivolous thing he would really like.

I am like Ummmm - have got everything I need or want -
We buy each other things...just not for birthdays or xmas, take the pressure off. We usually do something instead like book a holiday or weekend away.
Get him a football shirt with A Lawn Shearer on the back and tell him to work on his thankyou face. :-)
My husband once bought me an iron for Christmas! I was NOT pleased. I think the same applies to the shears, Baths, they are more like a piece of household equipment. Get him a shirt/jumper/jacket/holiday............

Well he's using them now and seems happy as Larry :) He muttered summat about anti-vibration thing they've got....I think it's gonna be difficult getting him to stop now and take me to Lidl + B+M...I want some solar lights for garden, the others are bolloxed.

Roll on Friday when I'm 6 weeks post-op and can drive myself ;)

He's a lucky man....... Bath's goes to Iceland. :-)
'A Lawn Shearer' - didn't he play for England and Newcastle and looked what happened to them? Anyway, Baths is probably a Man supporter.
