A strimmer probably
Or Brushcutter.
Can you not get a scythe any more then ? For a little more effort a machete or sickle.
You can still buy Scythes, hard work compared to a Brushcutter though.
Ouch ! One'd need a large garden to justify that sort of spend.
Best send the missus out with a pair of dressmaking scissors.

Would a cheapish strimmer do? It wouldn't be used that often and the garden's not that big.
If it is just grass then a B&Q 'value' strimmer will do, I got one for £12.
Depends how thick it is, a cheap electric one won't cope if the stalks are too strong.

It's only overgrown grass. I'll try the B+Q strimmer
Don't see why not, it'll keep you fit at least.
Borrow a Donkey :)
Sandy - I have one of those scythes from eBay
Absolute rubbish - it's under my bed just in case of intruders
