I've got 2 new raised beds (small) and I've decided I'm growing some peas and carrots in one and salad stuffs in the other. I read that I should fertilise the soil for peas but NOT for carrots. What sort of fertiliser should I use. I'm new to growing veg so I'll be grateful for your advice. Thank you

We normally dig well rotted manure and home made compost into ours.

Thanks Ratty, I can get lots of horse poo from our lane, but I'll have to let that rot down won't I?
Yes, fresh manure will damage carrots. Try Googling "using fresh horse manure" for lots of info - here's one example link :-
