When do I prune my new dwarf cherry? It has grown substantially since I bought it. Thanks in anticipation.

Most deciduous trees are pruned when they are in their dormant period in the autumn and winter months but some would benefit if you can prune them in late summer to avoid the risk of silver leaf disease, which cherries (prunus) are prone to.
So I would say late August through September would be a good time.
Do you know what rootstock it is grafted onto? only it makes a difference
