Mother's Day

Just got back from daughters for a Mothers Day take away, lovely evening, all of us including five grand kids played Newmarket. I had some lovely presents and cards, I had a very ornate large birdbath decorated with mosaics, a foot high stone frog decorated the same, a miniature rose bush, a shower cap and three bags of assorted liquorice, didn't I do well. Not boasting just wanted to share what my lovely family did for me.

You did well Caran, thoroughly spoiled. I got a box of Thornton's Mint Chocolates and an iTunes voucher so I was chuffed enough, had to make a roast dinner for 10 of us though, but got a few glasses of bubbles to help me along the way.

They do go OTT at times but I have to have pressies from the cats and dogs too as well as five children. But I love them all to bits.

Trouble is, I now have a mental image of you sitting in the bird bath with your shower cap on ... ... ... ;)

Sounds like you did very well indeed. My daughter sent me choccies and a card, my eldest son rang up to see if I liked the flowers he had sent - and I had to tell him that I hadnt got any flowers so he was v upset and is ringing florist tomorrow. Youngest smow got me a big teddy,chocolates,big bunch of flowers and a card. oh, and he did me breakfast, bless.

Oh Ena that made me laugh and brought back memories. Many years ago at work I went shopping at lunch time and bought a shower cap, as usual every one wants to see what you have bought, so I whop out the shower cap, put it on and say "have you seen it? Is it on the trolley?" Everyone cracked up laughing. Do you know what I am talking about?

Sounds like you've had a lovely day Caran.
I've had three boxes of chocs, some violet creams ( my favourite), flowers, and books of stamps......stamps may seem odd, but I am an avid compaholic, and post off between twenty and thirty competition entries every week, so stamps are wonderful. X

Sparkles what a wonderful idea, I use a lot of stamps too on crosswords, it certainly mounts up.
