Should be ok by now.
I'd leave it until end of April. No idea where you are but I was quite surprised to get a frost a couple of days ago.

I'm in the Essex flatlands!
I love petunias, one of my favourite flowers. Think I'll schedule a visit to the garden centre.
I'd wait until May... or use protection at night like agrifleece
Know it's later in Scotland buy my dad was a time served gardener and always said the start of May was early enough for bedding plants as we could still get a frost in April. May be OK further south of course.
"but" NOT "buy"
I agree with waiting...I never put in tender plants until after the second week in May. I had a thin layer of ice on the birdbaths yesterday morning!

Thankyou all for your replies ,it is much appreciated .
I'm not chancing it just yet - we had a VERY heavy frost on Sunday.
Think they'd be much happier left in the greenhouse; I'm pricking out today and it's nicer in there than outside....
Our local garden centre here in the north east will not even SELL a bedding plant until the third week in May and have refused to do so for years. We had a bad frost two night ago so I wouldn't risk it gleno.
Definitely way too early - think ice on a bucket of water a couple of days ago and I'm in the south!
