I have just received two holly plants
Should I put them straight in the tubs I want to keep them in or wait a day or two keeping them in the house?

If they were outside when you bought them, put them outside again or the shock may kill them.

I've just got them through the post
How about if I pop them in the pot and then pop in the garage for a couple of days?

Thanks for the answer btw
What is the weather like where you are? Here its mild and damp and I would plant straight out. The garage will be dark. Is there a reason why you don't want to plant out. If its mild and damp near you and you don't want to plant out straight away, they might be better stood out in the garden than in the garage

If you have a conservatory or cool greenhouse, keep them in there until it get`s a little warmer, then plant then in situ.

I dont have a greenhouse but I do have empty two litre plastic bottles so I shall use those
I would get them in the garden with just a little protection.
Give them a good soaking in a bucket for two days, outside during the day and inside at night, then plant them but cover them at night with frost protection and straw round the base.
