The mirror fell off the wall so now I will have to use these clips. I need some more advice. The four clips that came with the mirror are recangular and of a peculiar design. No screws supplied. The mirror is oval andthe clips straight so I don't know how they will look on a curved mirror.
Also, if the four clips are screwed to the wall, how do I fit the mirror into them? Are you familiar with Ikea mirror clips?

WILLWONKER haven't you anything better to do?
Well come on matey, you solved all our medical problems and yet you can't hang a simple mirror :)
IKEA mirror clips are usually spring loaded.

Thanks Lilsecret for your input. It is difficult to describe these peculiar clips. I fail to see how it is possible to fit the mirror after these have been screwed in place. Willowonker, your comments are irrelevant.

Thanks for your helpful contribution Willwonker (rhymes with Plonker!)
RJUKL - somewhat difficult to explain also.

Get someone to help you. Assuming you are mounting the oval mirror longways, top to bottom. Fix the two clips on the wall to the right of the mirror (maybe 2 and 5 o'clock positions). Then slide your mirror into those two clips. While the other person is holding it in place, position the other two clips on the left of the mirror (maybe 10 and 8 o'clock). When they are holding the mirror, slide them to the left and mark the wall for screws. This is where the spring-loading comes into action. Once fixed to the wall the spring action will then grip the mirror all round.

Very complicated to put into words.
Mirror mirror on the wall who is the daftest of them all?????

Thanks lilsecret, They are spring clips. I would have thought the first two ought to have been the bottom two 5 and 7 oclock. It is definitely a two person job.
Sorry RJ...just seen your post...have a look at a plan to draw on the wall so as to make your clips square and level...

Fit the 2 lower fixed clips where the lines cross..
Sit the mirror in the lower clips...
Then slide the spring clips behind the mirror where the vertical lines appear above the mirror...and mark across their top edge.
Remove the mirror and fix the top clips...
Now re-fit the mirror by forcing the top clips up, and then lowering the mirror in on top of the bottom clips...
Hope that makes sense...remember do your lines on masking tape...good luck..!

Thanks a lot Alavahalf. It is very good of you to go to the trouble of doing a drawing. I will have a go at it at the weekend. I have since been in touch with a mirror supplier who sell special mirror adhesive (which does not attack the silvering) but was assured that the double sided sticky pads that they also supply will be adequate for my size and weight mirror. It may be a safer way for me personally. The other things I used were Bostick sticky dots which I probably didn't press to the wall firmly enough.
