whilst doing the hoovering! I can positively understand why. But how many other halves help with the housework? Is housework a boy thing or a girl thing?

Despite the effect of civilisation, man is still programmed to go out and hunt, and woman to look after the cave and the kids.
Whatever we do and whatever laws we pass, it will take more than a few years to change that!
I'm sure one, probably more, somewhere has been electrocuted (I nearly was once) and even more likely hit over the head by wifey screaming 'you're doing that wrong!!!'

But yes I as a husband help - maybe not as much as I should....
It's a partnership!!
The days where the husband was the main breadwinner and came home expecting his dinner on the table, are thankfully long gone.
Before we agreed that I would work from home, we shared the housework 50/50, as I'm here most of the time, I do the lions share of the housework, however Mrs 4GS does her bit when she gets home, or at the weekend.

I pick our eldest up from school and there are more and more men staying at home being a househusband these days,
I have to admit I rarely do the hoovering, but my wife never has to do the washing up and I do mean never and it's not because we use paper plates either, and she don't have to go up on the roof either when a slate comes loose.
and I have now learnt how to work the washing machine and get the clothes in if it starts to rain, took a long time but i did the hang of it, be patient with us please, we are after all merely men, we will get there.Ray
i look after the kitchen with immense pleasure , i don't mind cleaning the sides or the oven and i find it very therapeutic doing the washing up.

But if she asks me to do anything else she has got more chance of winning the lotto rollover twice in a month!!!

4GS, we're the same, mostly 50/50. The current Mr ES does all the cooking, I do all the housework but I also help him do all the DIY. I do most of the gardening including cutting the grass but I have to say he is a great cook.
I disagree with Aquagility though I think a lot of men are now swapping roles as the women become the breadwinners. Seems sensible to me?
I like how you say husband, I chuckled to myself there as I think there are more people living in sin nowadays :-) I do all my housework but then I live on my own and my bloke has his own place. When I cook tea for him he does make sure he washes up though.
i think it's because men are superior to women, now that iv'e got that off my chest I'll go and wash the breakfast pots n pans, then i'll hoover up before she sees what Iv'e writen here, heh heh heh.

yes legend, you see, women are better than men at some things, but for other jobs men are better than women, but on the whole men are superior,
