Backbone and courage. When you put them up against and equivalently numbered and armed army anywhere in the world, they will ALWAYS win. cf Falklands, etc etc.
Apparently (according to the press), the're also quite good at abusing unarmed civilians, but not as good as the US Army.

That's not fair Rojash!

The guys at Deepcut weren't civillians, they abuse their own too!

Good training.

Albeit harder to get now, what with plastic knives and imaginary rounds.

Who, besides the British, says they are so great?

I'm sure if you asked this question in any country they would say that their's was the greatest.

Spin.

Apart from the Germans Kos ;o)

This 'backbone and courage' in the Falklands, MargeB ?

So that's what helped them beat a largely conscripted, poorly trained, and demoralised army of Argentinian teenagers. It must have taken real backbone and courage to shoot those they had captured, too.

Once again people can only point out the bad stuff. There are abuse cases in all nations' armed forces, and much worse when it is a nation such as those with terrorist action. 99.9% of British forces are the best in the world. They don't mutilate and torture people or use them as hostages before beheading them, so grow up and stick up for ours for once! This country gets slagged off enough by others without our own people doing it. Yes manwich they are bl**dy great!
Discipline!
