Well both I'd say......Joan went up in smoke...............Fanny was married 4 times and cremated.......take your pick.
Noah's Ark and Joan of Arc... one was made of wood, one was Maid of Orleans.
Close... Joan got burnt at the Craddock and scorched her fanny...
Is it true that Johnny Cradock said on TV: 'and I hope all your doughnuts turn out like fanny's'?

I think it was the announcer AFTER the show.

She had shown people how to make donuts, and during the closing credits the vocie over guy said "I hope all your donuts look like Fanny's"

Of course it may be wishful thinking, I am not sure she would ever demean herself to make donuts.
Fanny Cradock died in an old people's home in Eastbourne in 1994,aged 85.
Johnny actually said it at the Albert Hall, where they were giving a cookery demostration.I know,I was there.
I tittered(to myself) but many of the audience didn't think it was funny, they didn't see it as funny I mean.
The demonstration was recorded for TV,and given how prudish (even now) the BBC can be,I don't think they would have shown it if they thought it was at all rude!
BTW The Albert Hall was sold out for the demonstration, all 6,000 seats;I can't imagine ANY chef doing tha these days.
Of course this was the 1950's.
Fanny was cremated at Eastbourne Crematorium~
Gas Mark for 3 hours! LOL
PS:~
VHG She DID make doughnuts. In the 1950's they were considered the height of chic taste!
