I don't know but I thought he was only in the millitary for about ten minutes yet he had three medals on show.
i no prince edward or the earl of wessex used to be in the royal marines but i didnt see which uniform he was wearing sunday so cant be more exact
He carries all these honours in the UK though what he has done to deserve them is to be left .
Royal Honorary Colonel of the Royal Wessex Yeomanry
Flag of the United Kingdom Royal Colonel of the 2nd Battalion, The Rifles
Flag of the United Kingdom Honorary Air Commodore Royal Air Force Waddington
Flag of the United Kingdom Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary.
He was also a Second-Lieutenant, Royal Marines
So it's take your pick !
My Husband a Former Royal Marine says as Edward was unable to complete Royal Marine Training which is fair enough he should then not accept any Honorary Military Titles.
In this photo he is indeed wearing the rank insignia of a Colonel. The cap badge is the Prince of Wales feathers of B (Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry) Squadron, the senior squadron of the Royal Wessex Yeomanry.
I believe that unless in uniform the only member of the royal family allowed to approach the Cenotaph is the Queen herself. Therefore to take part he'd have top wear a uniform...maybe it should have been the brownies uniform, he hasn't EARNED the right to wear anything else unless he fully passed through Sandhurst, I'm not sure he did
