Useful background but I have a set of maundy money that has come down through family but not known whether given to Grandmother or G father. Wrote to Queen but they said they do not keep list of recipients. Wondered if anyone knew if there was a list of recipients kept anywhere?

You could try writing to the Cathedral where the maundy ceremony was carried out.
I have just started compileing a list of maundy recipients on my website.

Thanks maundy, I've been onto your site & I'll write to Westminster Abbey to see if they can help for 1941. Id already tried Buckingham Palace as suggested on your site but they replied that they dont keep any names. I'll let you know whether successful or not with the Abbey
