I assume you know of what you speak? On that assumption, I must tread carefully because this is a family site.

The gentlemen who star in this type of film are chosen for their ability to obtain and control the asset required, so it is unlikely that any 'backstage' assistance is required. Apart from anything else, any attention to the asset reduces the length of time the gentleman can use it, so it makes sense to ensure that any such attention is offered in an 'on camera' situation.

I trust that makes sense - any readers to whom it appears to be nonsnensical are probably best not exploring any further.

According to The Oxford English Dictionary, a 'fluffer' is someone whose job it is to clear refuse - presumably including dust and fluff - from the tracks of the London Underground. I presume that such people do indeed exist.

("I cannot imagine what Andy is talking about!" he said, tongue firmly in cheek.)

now I have had to look it up to find out what you are talking about... one thing the internet has taught me is that anything is possible!
I was under the (potentially mistaken) impression that those who whose assets are, erm, overexposed, lose some of their natural get up and go through boredom and associated loss of sensitivity. An acquaintance who was involved in a broadly similar, although quite seperate industry, remarked that significant encouragement was necessary for some of the men on the clapham omnibus.
Are we talkin the porn film warm up act here?

DMA did you read my first paragraph? And all the other answers which have avoided being explicit?

Why did we bother??????

I've seen a documentary about the relevant industry, which showed them in action. They definately exist.

Yes.

They do not only keep the star actors, erm... Interested, but also go round the set with a bag of Q-Tips, cleaning hard to reach places. So to speak.

Hope this helps. Got to go, I've got to go buy some cotton buds.

this site certainly broadens ones horizons - i'm blushing now i've worked out what you are on about !!!!!!

I had the good (mis) fortune a few years ago of shall we say being present in an establishment that it is reputed these persons were required. My guide, yes truly I was a guest, told me that it was not so much a problem during the cinematograph experience but being able to present for duty after a cut and then recommencement. To my surprise the need for such additiaonal staff has almost disappeared becasue of a diamond shaped pharmaceutical product that looks like a clear blue sky.

I hope all get that I could have told you in six words, but didn't want to upset Andy.
