Better in what way(s)?
To my eternal shame, yes and yes. However, at the time, being a member of the Young Conservatives, I was looking at the world through blue-coloured spectacles. At the time Wilson was the bogeyman, but on reflection he was a much better performer than Heath. i still remember the scenes of utter jubilation in the college bar when Maggie kicked his ***.
yup I did actually

completely different political landscape then
the unions had immunity from civil suit and were hell bent on keeping their privileges - Boobz Castle had just got a beating over In Place of Strife, and there were these agreements called Solomon Binding which were neither Solemn nor Binding

and we were nowhere near the winter of discontent .... another ten years away
No.

Baldric, better as an ambassador for Britain, say?
Yes.
Jackie you have forgotten how two faced or false WIlson was

Papers were rushed over to Downing st at 10 30 pm so he could see how his image was developing. His proteges and lords appointees ended up in prison.

At lleast you could see Heath was an intellect
I'm not praising Wilson (I remember when the 50p coin replaced the ten bob note it was called a Wilson, two-faced and seven-sided). I just think that Heath turned out to be an even worse PM. Still, if it hadn't been for Heath we would never have had Maggie.

I expect many people here wouldn't vote Labour on principle.
Just like saying many on here wouldn't vote conservative on principle....
No I voted for Wilson. Far superior to Heath until he 'lost the plot' he suffered from mental health problems that were hushed up at the time.
Wilson had Alzimers which suddenly got worse , it was kept quite for a long time.

No and No.
I honestly cannot remember.
Ah my first general election ( of age to vote ).
No twice in the same year.
Wilson became convinced MI5 were plotting against him. Rather to my astonishment, he was absolutely right.
Wasn't there right-wing gossip which held Wilson was KGB agent? And that Gaitskell had been assassinated in order to ease his path into No 10?
Paddy the dog looks well there
Yep thats H, wolf. Although I'm surprised that he wasn't wearing his Gannex coat in the photo.
