Daughter and I went to Good Food Show at Birmingham. Bought lots of goodies, Toffee Vodka (lush) Sloe Gin ( very partial to) four different cheeses, lots of chutneys, assorted salmons fillets, smoked salmon, four different sausages, game pie, pesto sauces and lots of freebies.and probably more I have forgotten about. I only had toast for breakfast yet have had nothing else to eat apart from freebie tastings, yet I still feel full. Really enjoyed it, nice to spend a day with daughter. OH pleased with his game pie. Has anyone else been to the show?

It's a really good day out Mamya. Best day is Sunday really when lots of things are sold off cheap. Last year the World of Cheese section sold you a carrier bag for £10, then you could get as many cheeses as you wanted, I had 18 different cheeses including Parmesan, brilliant.
My goodness that is fab!! Nearest I ever got was when a friend who ran a Pub took mr to a Brewery bash - we very nearly got arrested lol.

Coward!!
Sorry, had company - right the potted version is... all dressed up to the nines, a nasty wet day, arrived and immediately began to imbibe the free samples.

We discovered two lovely lads on the Britvic stand (they volunteered to look after our brollies) were directly around the corner from the Vladivar stand - so lots of tooing and froing there.

My friend had made me promise not to let her order anything at all, however I tried and failed after we downed a Bottle of Pink Champagne and she ordered 3 boxes.

As the day drew to a close, our finery a bit dishevelled ( Think Mrs Bucket/Bouquet) we made to leave...Britvic boys chased us and reunited us with umbrellas. No Taxis to be had, we set off to walk to the Station, on reaching a corner,we separated slightly as she pressed the button on the pedestrian crossing, at this point I went arras over titmouse and landed fair on my rear on the textured pavement (Mondrian would have been proud - lasted a week)

Just as the lights changed a Police Car stopped and my mate in perfect (if you believe that...English) said 'Can you give us a lift to the Station' - you can guess the reply.

We had to wangle an invite the next year and take chaperones.
nah, don't believe a word of it. yore making that up, mamya !!
Thank goodness I only gave the potted version then.
I only live just up the road from the NEC - just one stop on the local train - almost within staggering distance :+)

I 'do' the Good Food Show most years, but have decided on Motorcycle Live today instead - also on the NEC today.

It's an interesting mixture of punters on the train ...
