Why is it that whenever I try to open a tin of tomatoes with a pull ring on the top, the pull ring always comes off and I have to get the tin opener out?
That really gets to me!

Like most "Tear here" instructions on paper and cardboard packaging - they USUALLY DON'T WORK.
Question Author
..............and when you do manage to 'tear here', the whole bag rips open.
Because if they made the ring pull really firmly attached to the lid it would need great strength to detach the lid and it would come away suddenly...the tomatoes would leap out of the tin..with all the juice...covering much of the kitchen...the pile of ironing you have just done and the new white tee shirt you are wearing.
How do I know this?.....:-(
