When will the 1911 census records be freely available, as opposed to having to pay extra for access? I'm already with Ancestry.co.uk and don't want to pay out again for membership to another site or for credits from TNA.

findmypast have spent an absolute fortune in transcribing and advertising them and so it is very unlikely there will be in other online access sites anytime soon. I use the pay as you go option if i need anything from the 1911, it's ok on the find my past subscription you can access the 1911 inclusive of the subscription but it;'s 94.90 for 6 months or 149.90 for 12 months, but of course you get full access to everything else.
there's the pay as you go 280 credits for 24.95, that sounds alot but its 30 credits to look at the original return or 10 credits to look at the transcription, so thats 9 original returns or 28 transcriptions.
They've just sent me an email where they are offering a Foundation membership for 67.95 per month. If you just want the 1911 census then it is 39.95 for 6 months.
I hope the £67.95 a month is a typo.....
yeah i've had the email and it's for 6 months
