I have found a Ralph Kenneth Finberg.Born 1915 Died March 2000 Watford Herts.
Y0u can search the BMD records for a reference to his first wife at many of the genealogy websites, see if you can find a death reference. If you fail to find anything you can then ask the courts if there is a record of a divorce.
Marriage to Nora Featherstone in Dec 1946 Durham,if i'm on the right one.So presumably he was divorced.
I would assume they divorced. I cannot find a death for Lilian Finberg between 1940 and 1946. I have been on a site which tells me there is information regarding a divorce for a Ralph Finberg but you have to pay to see it.......this may or may not be your Ralph......
craft could you look to see if Lilian re -married under her first married name? That would be interesting, (I'm not subsctibed at the moment)
okay will do.......
also, if you fancy looking, you could try to spot a child born finberg with mother fox in the early 1940s, lilian could have died in childbirth
no dot.....can't find anything.......
already looked for finberg births with mother fox in early 1940's.....nothing.
If they divorced, and she didn't die, then surely she married at some point later in her life. My mother-in-law married a merchant seaman in 1944 and they had 2 children but he disapeared when the second child was born and so she divorced him on the grounds of desertion in 1948. But it was expensive and so her mother and step father paid for it.
well I've searched using ancestry and genealogist.......and it is quite an unusual name. I found a death for a Lily A Feinberg but she would have been too old.
maybe she went abroard during the war then?
I've checked armed forces deaths between 1940 and 1948 on findmypast....
Have found your Ralph and Lilians marriage O.N.D. qtr 1940 at Watford.
Bearing in mind the war was on it might be possible that Lilian died in
the air raids. Not all bodies were found. I haven't been able to find Death cert.
