I'm keen to hear the AB community thoughts on this, as I subscribe to Spotify premium, which means whatever you say, I can download immediately.

For me, the album (are we still allowed to call them 'albums') of the year, by a country mile is Lorde's 'Pure Heroine'.

But what else was there?

Which album from this year do you go back to again and again, because it's so perfect?

I have to check, I'm not even sure bought an album this year.
Jeez, I'm hanging my head in shame, I've only bought the odd single.
There is so much choice these days. I bought Rod Stewart, Alfie Boe, Horslips, Neil Diamond and Alison Crowe CDs this year.
Dizzee Rascal - The Fifth
interesting that none of the seven mentioned up to now feature in the top 40 of the year (so far) - http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/the-official-top-40-biggest-selling-artist-albums-of-2013-so-far-2655/

perhaps ABers are more discerning than the music-buying public.

TBH not bought an entire album this year. But funnily enough not half an hour ago an advert came on for Bruno Mars 'Unorthodox Jukebox' and I have to admit to liking a lot of the tracks on it.
I only bought 2 myself this year. Fun's Some Nights and Mumford & Son's Babel.
As I've got older I have moved away from albums and gone back to buying individual tracks. I know most chart singles now but would struggle to name any current albums and never like anything enough to risk splashing out on album, and I don't seem to have the time or inclination to try out whole albums.
It's sad in a way because I have had so much pleasure over many years from great albums.
AM by the Arctic Monkeys.
I only bought 3 this year

Depeche Mode, Lionel Richie and Barbara Striesand

I'll get me coat!
Only bought Rod Stewart this year, dithering about buying myself Robbie Williams Swing both Ways....anyone listened to it?
I rarely buy albums, as they're very samey often. Out of the top 40, i would probably go with Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys or Kings of Leon. I've never been into chart hits though and usually listen to the bands I've liked for years, rather than what is popular. Linkin Park in my car at the moment.
David Bowie - The Next Day
Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
The Shocking Miss Emerald - Caro Emerald.
Push The Sky Away - Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds

Bowie - Next Day

Not bought a lot else that's new - mainly old stuff being remastered/reissued/repackaged/milked.
Jake Bugg and Bastille for me.
I have only bought new copies of overplayed scratched albums - Doobie Brothers Minute by Minute, Mike and the Mechanics Hits, Supertramp Crime of the Century, Genesis Now we are three.
Well done LG - I forgot Jake Bugg - great album.
